Dream that hurt

The senses were surprisingly active in the dream. There was no way one was awake and yet one could physically feel the brightness of a white light which was hurting the eyes. It was so bad that one had to keep shutting the eyes physically. There was no seeing but just a feeling which has come from memory. Can memory, which stores thoughts of pain and pleasure and it’s everlasting interpretations and solutions, store a sensation in physical form? Or has dream got nothing to do with memory?
